Principal Update – Term 1, Week 5
Seaview High School Community,
It is a pleasure to welcome our community back for an exciting new year at Seaview High School.
It has been wonderful to see our Year 7 cohort settling confidently into high school life through Care Groups, digital learning sessions, and Seaview Plus Clubs such as Knitting, LEGO, Drama, Art, and the Environmental Club. The colour run with our Year 10 students was a vibrant start, building connection and belonging from day one.
A highlight of the term has been the Year 12 Leadership and Culture Retreat at West Beach, where students engaged in pastoral care activities, legacy planning, and team‑building experiences that set a positive tone for their final year.
This year also marked our first whole‑school Immersion Program. Despite the heat, staff and students embraced the experience with positivity and adaptability, and we look forward to using community feedback to refine future planning.
We thank all families for their ongoing support and look forward to a successful year ahead.
Craig Duguid
Principal
2025 Year 12 Results
Our 2025 SACE results reflect the strong commitment of our students and staff. We are proud to share that SACE completion reached 100%, continuing our consistently high achievement over many years.
Retention of our Year 12 cohort also remained steady, with 91.7% of students completing their final year at Seaview High School.
Stage 1 results were particularly pleasing. Literacy completion reached 100%, a significant increase from the previous year, while Numeracy completion remained strong at 91.4%.
At Stage 2, 28.74% of grades were in the A band, and we were delighted to see an increase in A+ achievements, with 17 students earning the highest possible grade. Overall, 76.43% of Stage 2 results were in the A and B bands, demonstrating consistent performance across the cohort.
These outcomes highlight the dedication of our students, the expertise of our staff, and the ongoing support of our families. We look forward to building on this success throughout 2026.

Welcoming our Year 7s
A big, warm welcome to our new Year 7 students! Over their first couple of days, students were busy getting to know their peers in their new Care Groups and sampling a range of Seaview Plus Clubs. Knitting, LEGO, Just Dance, games and puzzles, Switch, Drama, Art and Environmental Club were all in action.
Transition activities also included digital learning information sessions and a vibrant colour run alongside our Year 10 students — a fun and energetic start to high school life!

Year 12 Leadership and Culture Retreat
Our Year 12 Retreat at West Beach was a fantastic way to begin the final year.
Students built strong connections through Pastoral Care activities, legacy planning, team challenges, and shared experiences. From a parent acquaintance night and a sunrise by the beach, to the West Beach Adventure Climb and AFL Max leadership activities, the Retreat fostered wellbeing, resilience, and a real sense of community. A positive and memorable start to Year 12.
2025 High Achievers Morning Tea and Celebration
It was wonderful to welcome back some of our 2025 High Achievers and their families for morning tea and a Q&A session. Our past students generously shared their Year 12 experiences with our current Year 12s, offering insight, encouragement and practical advice. Thank you to those who joined us, helping to inspire our 2026 cohort.

Notice of AGM
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 19 March at 6.30pm in the Learning Hub. We encourage all families to consider expressing their interest in joining the Governing Council for 2026.
Last year, the Council played a valuable role in shaping discussions across several areas, including the review of policies, strengthening family engagement, parking and traffic management and providing parent voice on our oval redevelopment and partnership with Glenelg Football Club . Their contributions supported decision‑making processes that influence students’ day‑to‑day learning experiences and the long‑term direction of the school.
An EdSmart communication will be sent out shortly. Please keep an eye out and use the link provided to submit your RSVP and/or your nomination for Council. We appreciate the ongoing partnership with our families and community members who are able to contribute their time and perspectives.
