Welcome to the Seaview High School Sports Hub.
Here is where you will find all the information required to get involved in one of the many Extracurricular Sporting Activities (ESA) that Seaview High School offers to students throughout the school year.

MAIN PROGRAMS

Southern Zone Sport

Seaview High School offers a wide range of Extracurricular Sporting Activities (ESA) to students, including Southern Zone Sport. Any Seaview High School student can participate in Southern Zone Sport as there is no trial or application process involved. Southern Zone Sport promotes participation and playing sport with friends. It is the perfect opportunity to try a new sport, improve current skills and meet new people.

SEASON DETAILS

When: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Afternoons
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Location: Schools in the Southern Zone Area
Cost: $40.00 per sport, per season (Netball $70.00). These fees cover the cost of Transport to and from away games, Uniform Loan, Umpire fees and Coaching.

SEASON DATES

Season 1 (Term 1, Week 4 – Week 11)
Season 2 (Term 2, Week 4 – Term 4, Week 4)
Season 3 (Term 3, Week 7 – Term 4, Week 6)

REGISTRATIONS

Once registered, students need to collect a Medical Consent Form from Clayton Blackmore-Wells (Specialised Learning Programs Officer) during Recess or Lunch (Gym Office) and return it with full payment to the Front Reception by the due date.

Statewide Schools Competition (Knockout Sport)

Seaview High School offers a wide range of Extracurricular Sporting Activities (ESA) to students, including the Statewide Schools Competition (SSC), formally known as Knockout Sport (K/O). Any Seaview High School student can nominate to be considered for selection in a SSC team. Depending on the specific sport and the amount of interest in that sport, a trial process may be necessary to select a team to compete. Teams/ representatives will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Sporting Ability
  • Attitude & Behavior
  • Academic Grades.

Seaview HPV Racing (Pedal Prix Program)

The Seaview High School HPV Racing (Pedal Prix) community consists of Year 9, 10 and Senior (11/12) students. These students compete annually in the Australian HPV Super Series. For more information about the AHPV Super Series, head to their website.

Pedal Prix is offered as a subject in Year 9 and Year 10 and is a great program to engage students with the Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and sustainability that underpin Human Powered Vehicle Racing.

In addition to our three school teams we also have a community team (Moe). This team was created by former students, local community members and parents who are involved in the program.

Glazbrook Shield (Staff v Students Competition)

All Seaview High School Students and Staff members who are interested in participating in one of the upcoming Staff vs Students Glazbrook Shield Competitions must nominate to be considered for selection.

The Glazbrook Shield is named after Dick Glazbrook, an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Brighton from 1979 to 1982 for the Liberal Party. Dick also officially opened the Seaview High School Gymnasium on the 1st of November 1982.

The Lunch Time Staff vs Student Competition launched in 2018. In it’s inaugural year the competition consisted of 5 Rounds, each round featuring a different sport including, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, AFL and Touch Football. The Glazbrook Shield was a major success in it’s first year, with the Staff taking out the title (5-0). In 2019 the edition of another round was introduced, welcoming Cricket to the mix of sports.

SEAVIEW CARNIVALS

Seaview Volleyball Carnival

The Seaview HS Volleyball Carnival has proven to be extremely popular over the years and is a great opportunity to play in a fun but also competitive competition with friends.
Dependent on how many teams register, there is opportunity to have multiple grades and time slots. Further information about this will be released once registrations have closed and numbers have been confirmed.

Game Day: Thursday Afternoons (Week 3 – 10, Including Finals)
Where: Seaview High School Gymnasiums
Times: 3:15pm – 4:15pm & 4:20pm – 5:20pm (Tbc, dependent on team nominations)
Grades: A, B & C Grade (Tbc, dependent on team nominations)
Cost: $10.00 per player
Team Details: Mixed Teams (Minimum 2 Boys/ Girls)

Twilight Touch Carnival

The Seaview HS Twilight Touch Carnival is a fun filled competition and caters for all levels of ability. This participation based competition is open to both current Seaview High School Students/ Staff and Family Members.
