Official Opening of the Nunga Room

The official opening of the Nunga Room, Seaview High School’s Aboriginal education space, was held on 27 May during the significant time of Reconciliation Week. We were fortunate to have Isaac Hannam start proceedings with the Welcome to Country. Isaacs words reminded us of the deep cultural history of this land, and the importance of continuing to walk together in understanding and respect.

The opening of the Nunga Room marks an important step in creating a space that supports learning, identity, and belonging. It is a celebration of culture, of connection, and of commitment to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and community. In addition to the Nunga Room, we’re proud to now have a beautiful native garden – an extension of the learning space that honours culture and Country. This garden provides a place for reflection, learning, and connection with nature.

Daymap App

Daymap have launched a new and improved app – Daymap Companion. It’s more user-friendly and offers a range of new features, including allowing parents to manage all their children in one place, even across different schools. Please refer to the specific communication sent previously via EdSmart.

Dance Nights

We were absolutely blown away by the incredible performances from our dance students at our recent dance nights. We hope our audiences enjoyed the show as much as we loved bringing it to life. With contributions from a wide range of choreographers – both professional and student – the show was a vibrant, diverse celebration of dance, with something for everyone.

CE Visit

Chief Executive of the Department for Education, Professor Martin Westwell, visited us on Tuesday 24 June, where he was warmly welcomed by staff and students. During his visit, Martin observed a calm and positive school culture, noting the way both adults and students engage as a school community. The visit began with a discussion in the principal’s office focused on the activation of the department’s strategy at the site level. We then attended the Breakfast Club, followed by a tour of classrooms and specialist areas. Throughout the visit, he engaged with students and staff, asking questions about their learning experiences and the school’s strategic direction.

Career Expo – 29 July 2025

We’re excited to be hosting our annual Career Expo once again – a fantastic opportunity for students, parents, and community members to connect with industry professionals and explore future career and study options. With over fifty exhibitors already confirmed, the event promises to inspire and inform, showcasing a wide variety of career and education pathways.

Industries represented will include filmmaking, game development and programming, 3D animation and visual effects, early childhood education, nursing and midwifery, landscape architecture, and the beauty sector – including hairdressing, makeup, and skincare training. Visitors also have the opportunity to engage with professionals from cyber security, STEM, aviation, and defence, alongside training and employment organisations in surveying, property evaluation, and the building industry.

Winter Appeal

The Nunga Room and Seaview Plus Yarn Club (students) have teamed up to collect new winter essentials for young people, young mums, and babies doing it tough this winter. We are seeking donations of adult and baby socks, blankets, mittens and gloves, hoodies, beanies and scarves. If you’re able to help, please drop donations to the Nunga Room (located inside the Administration building) by Friday, July 4. All items will be donated to AFSS, Olga Fudge Lodge, and Narungga House to support those most in need.

Big Gig

This exciting event gave students the chance to step out of the classroom and onto the stage – not as students, but as professional musicians, and perform a 20-minute original set in a real gig environment. The calibre of music from the students was exceptional and the event was a huge success.

Year 11/12 Netball

Congratulations to our Year 7/8 and 11/12 girls Netball teams who have progressed to round two of the Statewide Knockout Netball competition. Both teams went undefeated in their matches against Aldinga, Wirreanda, and Hamilton High School, not dropping a single game throughout the day.

Year 7/8 Boys soccer

Well done to our Year 7/8 Boys Statewide Knockout Soccer team, who kicked off their campaign with a dominant 6–0 victory over Woodcroft College in Round 1. The team now advances to Round 2 of the competition, set to take place in Term 3.
