๐งถ Seaview Plus Yarn Club.
Yarn Club is going great guns! We had 13 students attend last week and 12 this week. All students now have their own crochet hook and yarn stored in their own bag, ready to grab each week.
Students are mastering the slipknot and chain stitch. Next week weโll move on to the next two basic stitches that make up about 90% of crochet work.
Once you can make a slipknot, chain, single crochet and double crochet, you can create almost anything - toys, decorations, blankets, even clothing. With those basics you can make a granny square. From a granny square you can make a hexagon, and from a hexagon you can make a jacket.
Yarn Club is open to all students. Held Tuesday's at lunch time in LHC1 ๐งถ ... See MoreSee Less

๐๐Last Friday, we celebrated International Womenโs Day at Seaview with a day of various opportunities for staff and students to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women.
In the morning, a group of our Year 12 Womenโs Studies students and student leaders, attended the International Womenโs Day Breakfast, where they had the incredible opportunity to hear from Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australiaโs first female astronaut.
In the afternoon, we continued the celebrations with an afternoon tea, where students and staff had the opportunity to hear from guest speaker, Libby Trainor Parker, a passionate advocate for womenโs health who has played an important role in raising awareness about Endometriosis.
As part of the day, we also created a video featuring staff and students sharing women that inspire them, recognising the many individuals who continue to shape and influence our lives.
It was incredible to see our school community come together to reflect on the importance of supporting, empowering and celebrating women. ๐๐ ... See MoreSee Less
