๐บ๐Yesterday marked the culmination of nine months of hard work and dedication as 59 of our Special Interest Dance (SID) students and their student coaches took to the stage at the Southern Region Dance Ultra Competition โ a school only competition hosted by Immanuel College.
It was an absolute joy to watch our students lead with confidence and work together as teams, bringing to life the choreography created and taught by our talented student coaches: Taya N, Georgia T, Jasmine C, Maree F, Laila S, Maddy H, Matilda A, Ryder S, Sophie V-D and Grace L.
We are happy to share that every Seaview team placed in the top three:
๐ฅ Open Lyrical (Taya N) โ 1st
๐ฅ Open Tap (Georgia T) โ 2nd
๐ฅ Middle School Jazz (Jasmine C) โ 2nd
๐ฅ Open Contemporary (Maree F & Maddy H) โ 3rd
๐ฅ Middle School Lyrical (Sophie V-D & Grace L) โ 3rd
๐ฅ Open Jazz (Laila S & Maree F) โ 3rd
๐ฅ Open Hip Hop (Matilda A, Ryder S & Tahlia V) โ 3rd
While we are incredibly proud of these achievements, what impressed us most was the way our students conducted themselves throughout the day. They embodied our SID values of kindness, teamwork and love by cheering on every school, supporting one another and celebrating everyone's successes.
As teachers, these qualities are what make us most proud. It was especially rewarding to have this recognised by the competition organisers, who awarded Seaview the School Spirit Award for the second consecutive year.
For our Middle School teams, this competition marked the final performance of their routines. We thank them for an incredible season and look forward to seeing them audition again in 2027.
Our Open teams are now eagerly awaiting confirmation of which routines will be invited to perform at the Dance Ultra Finals on Friday 14 August (in the evening).

๐ The Year 7โ9 Girls AFL team competed in the opening round of the Statewide Knockout Competition yesterday with great determination and sportsmanship.
In their first match against Blackwood, the girls put in a strong performance and were unlucky to go down by just one goal in a closely contested game. They then faced Concordia College in their second match, where they battled hard and never gave up, but were ultimately outpaced by a strong opposing side.
The girls represented Seaview with pride, displaying excellent effort, teamwork, and resilience. They should be proud of their performances and can hold their heads high.
