Special Interest - Special Interest Music
Special Interest Music is offered to students in years 8-12 in addition to the general music curriculum and is designed for students who demonstrate ability and potential in music performance.
Qualified teachers, with the support of specialist instrumental staff and industry professionals, plan and deliver the program, which includes solo and ensemble practice, theory, aural training and music appreciation.
The curriculum has a strong focus on technique and skill development and provides a pathway to SACE Music. Individual and ensemble performances are an integral part of the program. Students are required to take part in a co-curricular ensemble appropriate to their instrument. These include: Large Ensemble, Rock Band and Vocal Choir.
Special Interest Music is a demanding course that requires students to be motivated and committed to developing their music skills.
Entry is by application, audition and interview.
