Educational Program - Pedal Prix
Pedal Prix is a unique course offered to students in Years 9 & 10.
Team building, graphic design, metalwork, bike maintenance, CO2 dragster construction, aerodynamics, vehicle design, fundraising, fitness training and statistics are just some of the different topics covered throughout the year. You can also expect to ride the Pedal Prix vehicles in class time to develop your racing confidence, fitness, teamwork and communication skills. The Year 9 Pedal Prix team will enter into 4-5 races including the 24 hour endurance race at Murray Bridge.
Follows on from the Year 9 Pedal Prix program.
There is a strong focus on the Science, Maths, Engineering and Fabrication behind the manufacture of a Human Powered Vehicle. Students will be expected to take more responsibility in the operation of their Pedal Prix team. They will be responsible for the sourcing of sponsors, planning and running fundraising, organisation of documentation and race-day materials. Students will also be expected to take on a mentoring role in and out of school, assisting the Year 9 Pedal Prix team with their efforts.
