Family Information - How To Enrol

Seaview High School is a co-educational, zoned state secondary school, focused on developing a community of learners that is inclusive of all students. We regard our size as one of our greatest advantages - with an ideal population of approximately 780 students. We prioritise developing a deep knowledge and understanding of our pupils and our Principal prides herself on knowing each individual student by name. Seaview High School offers a range of flexible academic programs, providing extension, acceleration and support.

Due to our continued growth we are no longer able to accept general enrolments from outside our school zone. Families living outside our school zone, seeking enrolment at Seaview High School in current high school year levels, will be directed to their zoned school or encouraged to remain at their current school.

As a result of our high enrolment demand, we do not currently offer any Principal tours, but are developing a Virtual School Tour which will be on our website shortly.

If you have moved to our school zone and are looking to enrol, please contact the school and provide us with your proof of address by way of the following:
    - recent gas or electricity bill in enrolling parent/s' name and showing the supply address AND
    - rental agreement covering at least 12 months or a contract of sale

The Department for Education is committed to integrating Year 7s into high school by 2022 and Seaview is aligned to this commitment.

Year 7/8 Transition

Entry into Year 8 at Seaview High School follows the Department for Education transition process.

In the first term of the year they are in Year 7, your child will receive a pack from the primary schools which contains information on the new online nomination form. This is where you will need to nominate the high school you would like your child to attend. If they currently attend a private school, you will need to contact us before the end of Term 1 of the year they are in Year 7, to request one of these packs be sent to you.

Parents of students starting secondary school in 2021 will now complete their registration of interest form online thanks to the new Transition Portal launched this week. To complete the form online, families should be sent a unique URL. Transition staff at the primary school will send this as a letter or email through the Transition Portal.
If you are outside our school zone, entry can only be gained by auditioning for, and being accepted into, one of our Special Interest Programs (see information under the Special Interest tab).

Once all Year 7 students have been allocated to their high school by the Department for Education, they will receive a high school enrolment package via their primary schools in Term 3 of Year 7.
view High School offers a comprehensive transition program for Year 7 students joining us as in Year 8.

The transition entails a two-day program that is provided to support students to familiarise themselves with the school, to make new friends and to meet current student leaders and staff.

The days provide opportunities for students to discover some of the many exciting things that Seaview High School offers, through engaging in a range of interactive activities and lessons. The final day also includes a parent session in the evening and extended time when the Uniform Shop is open.

The number of in-zone students applying for year 8 entry in 2020 means we have not accepted any out of zone applications via the preference system.

This decision is based on the Department for Education’s enrolment policy and procedures and ensures we maintain sustainable enrolment at year 8.

In line with the policy, the only out of zone students considered for enrolment were children with a sibling currently at the school and those offered a place in a special interest program.
